A Pittsburgh funeral home owner has been accused of taking payment for pet burials and cremations just to dispose of the pets in a landfill. Patrick Roy Vereb of Vereb Funeral Home and Eternity Pet Memorial was arrested on Monday for theft by deception, receiving stolen property, and deceptive business practices. Vereb allegedly took more than $650,000 from grieving pet owners. “This case is disturbing, and will cause devastation and heartache for many Pennsylvanians,” Attorney General Dave Sunday said.
