Driver Reporting Impaired Driver Turns Out to Be Impaired
Talk about irony! On New Year’s Eve in Qualicum Beach, British Columbia, a 50-year-old motorist called police to report a suspected impaired driver. The concerned citizen even pulled the other vehicle over, trying to prevent a potential accident.
When police arrived, they discovered the reported driver was sober — they were just struggling to navigate the dark roads. But the caller? Not so lucky. Officers noticed signs of alcohol consumption, and a roadside test confirmed it. The caller failed, earning a 90-day driving suspension and a 30-day vehicle impoundment.
Moral of the story: If you’re going to call someone out for being impaired, make sure you’re not guilty of it yourself!
