Meet the Woman Raising Eight Dolls as Her ‘Kids’—and Yes, She Breastfed Them Too
Kelly considers herself an “adoptive mom” to eight lifelike dolls, each of which she treats like a real child. Originally buying her first doll, Jennifer, as a simple prop, she quickly grew attached and, over time, expanded her “family.” Now, after spending more than $2,000, her dolls have their own cribs, daily routines, and stroller outings to local restaurants and parks.
In the early days, Kelly even breastfed the younger dolls! She’s since switched to bottle-feeding, mixing homemade “milk” out of flour and water. Each day, she dresses her dolls, watches movies with them, and ensures they’re tucked into bed by 7 p.m. Criticism rolls in now and then, but Kelly shrugs it off, saying the dolls give her purpose. “I’m living my truth of the life I want—as if I were a mom,” she shares. One day, she hopes to adopt a real child, but for now, her unique setup is a source of comfort and fulfillment.
