THOMPSON, N.D. (KFGO) – A semi driver was cited after a crash involving a truck in a stripe-painting convoy on southbound I-29 near Thompson around 2:30 p.m. Friday.
The Highway Patrol says 57-year-old Vaughn Cormie didn’t realize the convoy was driving slower. Cormie’s semi rear-ended a semi that had flashing arrows and warning lights, directing drivers to pass to the left of the convoy.
No one was injured. Traffic was down to one lane for about 3 hours while crews cleaned the crash.
Cormie was cited for distracted driving.
