WEST FARGO (KFGO) – West Fargo firefighters responded to a fire at a home at 3008 7th Street East at 3:19 on Friday morning.
Fire Chief Dan Fuller says a passerby thought it was a bonfire at first, but realized it was a fire burning in a trash can near the house. The passerby woke up the residents living there.
Fuller says there are always more fires around July 4, and he says it’s almost always connected to discarded fireworks. However, Fuller says it has not been determined what caused this fire.
Firefighters knocked the fire down in under 5 minutes. The fire crew was on scene for some time working on an “overhaul” to ensure there was no smoldering fire.
Two or three people and several dogs in the house were okay. The damage is estimated at $35,000.
