FARGO (KFGO) – There was a fire early Friday in an apartment at a complex at 1469 35th Street S. in Fargo.
Battalion Chief Dane Carley says two trucks were dispatched to an alarm shortly after 1 a.m. and it was upgraded to a structure fire as firefighters were en route to the call after reports of alarms and smoke in the building.
Fire crews found fire in the second-floor apartment and rescued one person. The victim was transported by Sanford Ambulance to a hospital with burns and smoke inhalation. The extent of their injury is not known.
Carley says there was smoke and fire damage in the apartment unit, but he says the fire became “oxygen limited” and didn’t spread outside to other parts of the complex so other tenants were able to return to their apartments.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
