ST. PAUL, Minn. (KFGO/WCCO) – A St. Paul native and her husband have been killed during the war in Israel.
Cindy Flash, 67, and her Israeli Husband Igal lived along the Gaza Strip and hadn’t been heard from since Saturday’s surprise attack.
Flash worked at a local college in southern Israel and advocated for peace in Israel, particularly Palestinian rights.
Her daughter Keren said they learned Hamas militants broke into her parent’s safe room last weekend and murdered both of them.
“They are breaking down the safe room door,” Flash said in one of her final messages to her daughter. “We need someone to come by the house right now.”
The war has claimed over 3,000 lives on both sides, and sent tensions soaring across the region.
