ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is working with public libraries across Minnesota to make free state park passes available for checkout through June of 2025.
The DNR said the goal of offering this program is to provide a way for Minnesotans living in low-income communities across the state to visit state parks without the financial barrier of an entry fee.
Passes are valid for a week and, depending on the library location, there may be more or fewer passes available to check out. There are a total of 175 free passes currently in circulation throughout the state and around 100 participating libraries.
A list of participating libraries can be found on the DNR’s website.
