BEMIDJI, Minn. (KFGO) – The Minnesota Missing and Murdered Indigenous Relatives Office will work with the Bemidji Police Dept., Native American groups, family, volunteers, and others to conduct a large-scale search for evidence in the disappearance of Nevaeh Kingbird.
The search will take place Monday and Tuesday and will include a grid search of more than 150 acres around Bemidji.
The 15-year-old girl was last seen on October 22, 2021 after telling her mother she was going to a movie with friends.
Her mother returned home from work to find Kingbird with a half-dozen intoxicated teenagers. She attempted to confront her daughter but another teenager pushed her away. Her mother returned to her car and called 911.
Kingbird left the home and has not been heard from since.
