DICKINSON, N.D. (KFGO) – An overdose at a home near the Heart River Golf Course outside Dickinson led to a major drug bust and investigation in Stark County last week.
On Friday sheriff’s deputies and Dickinson Ambulance responded to a 911 call from the residence at 657 30th Ave SW just before 4:00 p.m. The caller reported that a man had overdosed on fentanyl. Emergency responders found a 38-year-old man in an upstairs bedroom unresponsive but lifesaving measures were taken and the man was revived and brought to a Dickinson hospital.
During the course of the overdose investigation, deputies observed various drug paraphernalia and evidence related to the possible distribution of controlled substances and called in agents from the the Southwest Narcotics Task Force (SWNTF). A K9 was deployed for drug detection and alerted to drugs in a package.
The SWNTF sought a search warrant and it was issued for the residence to include the suspicious package. The warrant resulted in the discovery of numerous controlled substances including over 1,000g of methamphetamine as well as other items indicative of drug trafficking. The sheriff’s department said one gram of meth has a street value of $40-$100 depending on the area and the source of the drugs.
The SWNTF identified multiple suspects in the case and is actively working with state, local, and federal partners to investigate.
