(KFGO/KNFL) West Fargo Sheyenne and Central Cass expanded its day one leads and won team championships at the North Dakota State Golf Tournaments.
In Class A at Dickinson, Sheyenne shot a 295 on the second day for a final total of 579, 28 shots ahead of second-place Red River. Century improved on its first-day total by twenty strokes to finish third at 610.
Individually, Nate Peyerl of Sheyenne finished with a 5-under par 139 over two days to win medalist honors. He followed up a 3-under 69 on day one with a 70 today. Shanley’s Zach Skarperud finished runner-up, five shots back with a two-day total of 144.
Central Cass outlasted Oak Grove and Bottineau by 33 strokes to win the Class B team title. After a day one total of 315, the Squirrels shot 308 on the final day to expand its advantage. Junior Cole Holzer made the biggest jump today, improving six shots with a 72.
The medalist race went down to the final two holes, as Northern Cass senior Aidan Hall birdied his 17th hole, and earned a par on 18 to win the title. After a even par 71 on Tuesday, Hall was victorious with a 77 today and a two day total of 148. Karsen Kulseth of Bowman County was one stroke back, with Holzer and Zach St. Aubin of South Border two shots behind at 150.
