BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – Mall of America now has metal detectors at one of its entrances on a trial basis, following two gunfire incidents within the past year and an armed robbery of two retailers about two months ago.
Bags are also reportedly being searched at the entrances.
“It is important to thoroughly evaluate this technology onsite to ensure its accuracy, effectiveness and efficiency,” a mall spokeswoman said. “We are currently testing a variety of options.”
