BISMARCK, N.D. (KFGO) – 121 drinking or drug-related citations were issued during North Dakota’s most recent “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” enforcement campaign, which ran from Aug. 19 – Sept. 5.
Of the 121 alcohol or drug-related citations issued, there were 49 driving under the influence arrests and 29 drug-related arrests. Alcohol-related charges also included 28 citations for minor in consumption, minor in possession and open container.
The high-visibility enforcement campaign is part of a collaborative effort between the state Departments of Health and Transportation and Highway Patrol to eliminate vehicle deaths in North Dakota.
