MINNEAPOLIS – A Minnesota attorney who helped prosecute former police officer Derek Chauvin is moving toward a federal judgeship.
Sen. Amy Klobuchar says she feels more strongly about putting prosecutor Jerry Blackwell’s name up than any other candidate.
The Senate Committee on the Judiciary met Thursday morning and voted 13-8 to move Blackwell’s nomination to a vote by the full U.S. Senate.
Blackwell was among seven nominees named by President Biden in June for positions in the U.S. District Court system.
