(KFGO/KNFL) It’s opening night for high school football in North Dakota on Friday. It’s a full schedule of games in the 9B and 11B divisions, plus a few games in 11A.
Defending 9B champion LaMoure/Litchville-Marion travels to Hope to take on Maple River. It’s the first game for the football cooperative consisting of Maple Valley and Hope-Page.

In 11B, Kindred is the defending state champions. The Vikings host Lisbon in an early-season Region 1 contest. Other games in the area include:
- Central Cass at Oak Grove (Game on 104.7 FM KFGO)
- Northern Cass at Cavalier (Game will be an 11-man game, Cavalier normally plays in 9-man)
- Sargent County at Oakes
- Linton-HMB at Ellendale-Edgeley-Kulm
- Grafton at Thompson
- Park River Area at Hillsboro-Central Valley
- Bottineau at Carrington
- Langdon-Edmore-Munich at Bishop Ryan
- Harvey-Wells County at Rugby
In 11A, Fargo North hosts Horace in the first varsity for the Horace Hawks program. North is ranked #2 behind Jamestown in the preseason Class 11A rankings.
In Grand Forks, it’s a doubleheader at Cushman Field as Central hosts Watford City, and Red River hosts Williston.
Class 11AA begins play next weekend with a full slate of games.
