ARDEN HILLS, Minn. (KFGO) – Minnesota-based Land O’Lakes has redesigned its century-old label without including the iconic image of a Native American woman.
The company says that the new packaging will include the phrase “Farmer-Owned” above the Land O’ Lakes label.
Land O’Lakes was founded by a group of Minnesota dairy farmers in 1921. The company says as it approaches its 100th anniversary in 2021, it wants to reflect “on its treasured history” and made the decision to showcase its farmers.
The new packaging is expected to appear on all Land O’ Lakes products by the end of 2020.
