FARGO (KFGO) – A search continues for a man who ran from the scene of an officer-involved shooting Friday morning. Police have identified him as Derek Stanley.
Stanley is accused of running from a van that pulled out of an apartment garage. A caller reported people were slumped over in a stolen mini-van and that it had a bullet hole in the windshield.
28-year-old Shane Netterville of Jamestown was shot by officer Adam O’Brien, an eleven-year veteran with the department. Netterville died later that day at a Fargo hospital.
Police arrested 25-year-old Cody Dunn for refusing to stop for officers and having methamphetamine.
O’Brien has been placed on paid administrative leave while the North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation works to determine whether the shooting was justified.
