I am someone who, depending on what year we bump into each other, you may not recognize me. And not just because all my hair vanished!
When I am a bit heavier… oh, I can be a bit heavier.
When I am a bit skinnier… oh, I’m a twig.
I have tried thing, after thing… after thing, to try and normalize my weight. To be consistent.
What seems to always be missing is that education AFTER the weight loss. I can lose weight. It’s creating something sustainable that I could use some help with. Something not just sustainable, but realistic.
Awhile back through a Y94 event I was able to get to meet Abby with Profile & finally the stars have aligned to give me the chance to take a Profile journey, better myself and learn some lifelong lessons along the way.

Truth be told, I’m just a few days into this adventure, but I’m highly optimistic. I weighed myself Father’s Day weekend, I’m comfortable sharing that with you – I was 225 pounds. Now, full disclosure, they call me “Zero” – there was a point in my life where I was more like… Three-Zero-Zero… so in the grand scheme of things, I’m not horribly unhappy. But, I can be better. I can be healthier. I have weight to lose and lessons to learn!
My journey started by going into Profile (Moorhead location, s/o Moorhead!) and sitting down with Coach Haley. I explained to her that I’ve always been very confused that I have difficulty losing weight – I don’t really eat! I get up, drink coffee and water and have dinner and that’s it! Well – there’s the problem. In doing this I’ve been essentially starving my body or putting it in a fasting state – the first steps of my journey have me learning to get better about consuming healthy options during the day.
In this phase of my Profile Journey, that includes Profile Shakes, Fiber Drinks, Bars and vegetables. If all goes as planned I should see weight loss over the next few weeks and then become educated on the next steps!
It’s early in the game but I can say that I’m extremely pleasantly surprised by the products. My perception of things “like” this was always that they would be… “chalky”, for lack of a better term. That was my assumption, anyway. The Profile shakes have been delicious and the Vanilla White kind of tastes like a Shamrock Shake from McDonald’s.
Just for comparison’s sake… this is me at my worst.
Compared to “Zero, Rat and Maggie” era Zero a few years later who… who is 175 in case you’re wondering.
Neither of these versions of me is probably completely healthy and neither had healthy eating habits… I’m looking forward to learning how to be a happy, healthy, “middle ground” version of me!
