WEST FARGO, N.D. (KFGO) – The West Fargo Liquor Control Board has revoked the liquor license of a bar with a history of noise-related issues.
The Awake Lounge was told in a letter that the bar’s application for license renewal has been denied. City Communications Director Melissa Richard tells KFGO News that the city attorney made the recommendation because of “multiple violations.”
“It was recommended to deny their liquor renewal application based on numerous city ordinance violations, including a guilty plea and several pending charges for loud party or noisy party violations and missing the renewal application deadline.”
In 2018, the Awake Lounge’s liquor license was suspended for two weeks after the city received more than 20 noise complaints.
Owner Ritchell Aboah says she disagrees with the latest ruling and says she plans to file an appeal with the West Fargo City Commission.
The bar’s license will expire July 1st.
