What the what!? A Jockey and Racehorse Both Tested Positive for Meth!
This has to count as a performance-enhancing drug doesn’t it? A jockey in New Zealand is in trouble after she and her racehorse both tested positive for meth. 50 years old, Rochelle Lockett, and her horse that she helped train named “Be Flexi” won a race back in January, but then the horse tested positive for meth. So Rochelle had to give hair and urine samples too and she tested positive for the drug.
First, she claimed she only did it once back in November, because it was her birthday (wait when did people start doing meth for their birthday!?). Later her test results showed she’d been doing a lot more meth than that. So she eventually admitted she’d done it two days before the race. New Zealand’s Racing Integrity Board just banned Rochelle for three years. She could be reinstated if she tests negative for 18 months though.
No this doesn’t seem fair but the horse got banned too. Turns out this isn’t the first time a racehorse has been methed up. Back in 2014 a horse named “I’m Not Ticklish” tested positive for meth and at least two other horses in New Zealand failed meth tests last year.
All I have to say is what the what….leave the poor horses out of your drugged up life.
