FARGO (KFGO) – A fast moving thunderstorm with heavy rain, damaging winds, hail and lightning swept through the Red River Valley and the Fargo-Moorhead area Saturday.
The storm downed numerous power lines and caused widespread outages. Large fences and traffic signs were blown over. There were also reports of trees and transformers on fire. Crews from Xcel Energy and other utilities were working to restore power.
Fargo-Moorhead area neighborhoods were littered with tree branches and debris. Some city streets were completely blocked by downed trees and flooding.
A truck was blown onto its side on I-29 near the junction of I-94.
There were no immediate reports of serious injuries.
