Spring cleaning time has finally arrived, and let’s be honest – that past couple of years have been rough. Rougher than usual. It’s very likely that you spent more time in your home which means more mess, more clutter and more NEED for spring cleaning. If you’re like most people, these things are taking up space in your home and gotta go!
1) Clothes You Never Wear
We all have them – clothes you never, ever wear and probably never will wear. They’re too big, too small or just flat out ugly. Get rid of them! Donate them! Sell them! Toss them! They need to go!
2) That Bike You Don’t Ride
It’s taking up serious space in your garage and you keep saying “eventually” you’ll ride it. No you won’t.
3) Gym Equipment (You Don’t Use)
See above. If you never use it but keep “saying you will” – let’s get real and free up the space. This stuff is bulky, too bulky if you don’t use it.
4) That Junky “Extra” Ride
Have a “spare” car/truck that is like NEVER driven? You realize with vehicle prices these days that it’s a fantastic time to unload it?
5) Old/Extra Furniture
Seems like every home has that couch that probably should have left a long time ago – do you have that spare couch, chair or bookshelf you could sell on Craigslist for extra cash??
6) Old Shoes
Shoes you don’t wear or those dirty old “yard work shoes/boots” that are due to be replaced with the next round of old “mowing the lawn” sneakers? Yeah, toss ’em. They’re gross.
7) Old Electronics
Really need to be hanging onto that old box television or Gameboy? Sell them. Toss them. Free up the space.
8) Old dishes / Tupperwear
Who doesn’t have those old mismatched dishes or Tupperwear without a lid. What good is it doing you?
9) Expired Medication
We all hoard it. But you shouldn’t be taking old cold meds or Advil anyway – check the expiration dates and toss them!
10) Hygiene Products
These expire too! Have a bunch of old, dried up stuff you’ll never use?? Trash it! (Also, on a related note… when is the last time you replaced your toothbrush?)
11) Decorations / Decor
Old holiday decorations you haven’t put out in years — house knick knacks shoved in a closet or collecting dust behind the stuff you actually want to display……. why do you have this?
12) Tools
Rusty old tools or tools that have already been replaced by something new — clear out the toolbox! These things can be super valuable and aren’t doing you much good if you never use them!
13) Old Lawn Gear
Ok. Do you really use that old rusty shovel? Your garage is probably littered with old lawn maintenance items
