Instacart released a bunch of data on what kinds of foods people are ordering for delivery – and in celebration of National Hot Sauce Day this Saturday, they released which states are ordering the MOST hot sauce. Now I wasn’t sure how popular hot sauce actually was, but 74% of Americans say they like to put hot sauce on their food, and nearly half of the country uses it at least once a week.
So Instacart figured out which states love (and hate) one of America’s favorite condiments, and the state that orders the most hot sauce… is NORTH DAKOTA. I was not expecting that at all, due to our Midwestern stereotypical low spice tolerance. And although North Dakota is number 1, MINNESOTA was still in the top 10 for purchasing the most.
And, they also shared which hot sauce was the most popular in the U.S.: Huy Fong Sriracha. If you’ve never tried it, even I like Sriracha, and once I thought KETCHUP was spicy. So.
So, this Saturday, make sure you celebrate National Hot Sauce Day accordingly!!
XOXO, Alyssa
