MINNEAPOLIS – A Brooklyn Park man will spend more than two years in federal prison for setting fire to a nutrition store during the George Floyd protest riots.
21-year-old Samuel Frey was sentenced to 27 months Friday after pleading guilty to conspiracy to commit arson. Prosecutors say Frey admitted to pouring hand sanitizer on a shelf inside Great Health and Nutrition on May 28th, 2020, and lighting it on fire. He was also ordered to pay nearly 34-thousand dollars in restitution for the damage.
Two other defendants were also charged for their roles in the arson.
