PINE CITY, Minn. – A Pine County student is in trouble for broadcasting a school lockdown drill as an actual shooting on social media.
Dispatchers received a call from Barnum High School Friday that someone posted an active shooter incident from Willow River. Deputies say it actually involved East Central School which was doing a lockdown drill. Both schools were searched, and nothing was found.
The suspect is accused of sending the video to other students and claiming it was a real event. The student was taken into custody and prosecutors are reviewing the case for possible charges.
