WASHINGTON, D.C. – The F-A-A is awarding Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport more than 12-million dollars to build an Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting facility.
Senators Amy Klobuchar and Tina Smith said the funding comes after a summer of unprecedented wildfires in Minnesota. Klobuchar said constructing a new fire station at M-S-P is critical to supporting the airport’s infrastructure and ensuring the safety of all residents and visitors.
This is phase one of a plan to build an emergency operations center to house firefighters, police, and 9-1-1 dispatch departments.
