ST. PAUL, MN. (KELO.com) — Minnesota Governor Tim Walz has issued a state-wide stay-at-home order for two weeks to help slow the spread of Covid-19.
“There is no magic around a two week period. We have weighed out the variables here. We believe, at this point in time, as of today, that buys us enough time.”
Governor Walz says it is designed to buy health systems more time by pushing out the expected peak infection rate. As of Wednesday, Minnesota had 287 confirmed coronavirus cases.
The stay-at-home order is for all non-essential trips.
It starts Friday, March 27, at midnight.
