MOORHEAD, MINN. (KFGO) – Moorhead Police recovered a stolen car that fled a traffic stop a week ago.
Shortly after 11 p.m. Wednesday, police spotted the orange, 2011 Dodge Avenger in south Moorhead. As the car was pulled over in the 1600 block of 3rd Avenue South, a passenger fled on foot.
Police, Clay County Sheriff’s Deputies, and the State Patrol set up a perimeter but didn’t find the passenger. The woman driving the car was detained and questioned but not arrested.
Police tell KFGO News the incident is under investigation and charges are pending.

MOORHEAD, Minn. (KFGO) – Moorhead police are asking for help in locating a stolen vehicle and the driver who fled after he was ordered to stop.
Police were called Thursday, Oct. 10 to 100 5 Street South for a fireworks complaint. The vehicle was located in the area of Moorhead Public Library. The responding officer ran the license plate and was informed that the car was reported stolen.
The officer gave the occupants verbal commands and waited for backup officers to arrive, but the suspect reversed the vehicle and intentionally hit the front of the squad car, causing minor damage.
The stolen vehicle is a 2011 orange Dodge Avenger with Minnesota license plate CEP-627. Police say several people were inside the stolen car. The driver was believed to be a male.
