CASSELTON, N.D. (KFGO) – The Cass County Sheriff’s Office is reporting another theft of cash from an ATM. This time, a cash machine at Gordy’s Travel Plaza in Casselton and part of the building were damaged. Deputies responded at about 5:30 a.m. Friday.
The case is the latest in a series of such crimes in Buffalo, Arthur, Fargo and in Barnes and Lamoure Counties. Three ATMs have been stolen and others have been damaged. In two of the cases where the machines were actually taken, a tow chain was tied around them and they were pulled away with a pickup.
The Cass, Barnes and Lamoure County Sheriff’s Departments are investigating along with Fargo police, North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation and the FBI.
Business owners are advised to review the placement of the machines and report any suspicious activity.
