HANKINSON – The Hankinson Pirates defeated the Wyndmere/Lidgerwood Warbirds 3-1 sets (25-23, 25-21, 21-25, 27-25) advancing to the semifinals of the Region 1 Volleyball Tournament.
For the Pirates (14-8), they took control of the match right from the start by securing a two sets to zero lead over the Warbirds (9-9). However, the Warbirds came back and won a hard-fought third set 25-21. Everything seemed to be going the Warbirds’ way in the fourth set. At one point, they were leading the Pirates by ten points! After many unforced errors, the Pirates completely erased this deficit to come back and win the match.
The Hankinson Pirates are now set to face the Kindred Vikings in the second round of the Region 1 Volleyball Tournament on Nov. 12th at 7:00 p.m. on 104.7 Duke FM.
