FERGUS FALLS, Minn. (KFGO-KBRF) – After a delay, MnDOT says the demolition of the remaining Highway 210 bridge on the west end of Fergus Falls has been scheduled for October 29 and 30, weather permitting.
Similar to when the north bridge was removed, the demolition of the old bridge will occur at night between approximately 8 p.m. and 7 a.m., and I-94 traffic will be temporarily routed around the work area using the ramps. While the southside ramps will open at night for rerouting traffic, they will close again during the daytime hours so the remaining work on the ramps can be completed too. The bridge demolition is expected to be completed in two nights.
Traffic shifted in areas this week to accommodate the remaining work along the Highway 210/I-94 Interchange Reconstruction Project. Concrete crews are paving the last two lanes on the east end of the project, finishing the lanes on the west end and at the Redwood Lane roundabout, and paving the final tie-ins at the ramps.
MnDOT continues to urge drivers to slow down and travel through the work zone with care and caution. While traffic is using the new alignment, there is still road work underway. Be alert for changing conditions, equipment and workers.
