Apparently, having friends in North Dakota is a luxury we can barely afford!
A new study looked at how much it costs to have a social life in all 48 continental states. They factored in things like going out to eat, grabbing drinks, coffee, movies, entertainment, and transportation, then compared those costs to what people actually take home in their paychecks.
And somehow, NORTH DAKOTA ranked as the 9th MOST EXPENSIVE state in America to have a social life!
We’re talking more expensive than 39 other states! Even Minnesota came in behind us at number 10.
New York was the most expensive, followed by Washington, Rhode Island, and California.
But here’s the part that makes this even crazier: SOUTH DAKOTA ranked DEAD LAST.
That’s right. North Dakota is the 9th most expensive state to have a social life, while South Dakota is literally the CHEAPEST.
Apparently, the secret to saving money on a night out is just driving south across the border!
