Christopher Kambal, (OTCDF)
FERGUS FALLS, Minn. (KFGO-KBRF) – A Fargo man is in Otter Tail County custody for fleeing from law enforcement.
Prosecutors say that a state trooper witnessed a muscle car driving around 120 mph on I-94 in Otter Tail County just before 2 a.m. Wednesday. The trooper attempted to conduct a traffic stop, but the Charger continued to accelerate, with a radar reading of 140 mph.
The trooper pursued the vehicle, but eventually lost sight of it due to the vehicle’s speed and the curvy roadway. The vehicle was eventually found in Fergus Falls. Through a brief investigation, officials identified the driver as Christopher Kambal, 18 of Fargo.
Court documents say a state trooper contacted Kambal by phone, and he told the officer that he was trying to get back to his apartment in Fergus Falls before the college’s curfew. He was located and placed under arrest.
Kambal made his first court appearance Thursday morning.
