Sept 26 (Reuters) – Gonzalo has weakened into a post-tropical cyclone and is no longer considered a tropical cyclone, the U.S. National Hurricane Center said on Saturday, issuing its final advisory on the system.
The post-tropical cyclone was located about 180 miles north of Sal in Cabo Verde and had maximum sustained winds of 40 mph (65 km/h), the Miami-based forecaster said.
“Additional weakening is forecast, and the post-tropical cyclone is expected to dissipate over eastern Subtropical Atlantic by the early to mid portion of next week,” the NHC added.
