Aug 12 (Reuters) – The European Union will provide €2 million ($2.3 million) in aid for communities in Colombia hit by this week’s earthquake, said European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen on Wednesday.
• “As search and rescue operations continue, the EU is supporting Colombia wherever possible. We are making €2 million available to support communities in the most affected areas,” wrote von der Leyen on X.
• The 7.4-magnitude quake, the most devastating to strike Colombia this century, is estimated to have killed at least 250 people.
