FARGO (KFGO/KVRR) – Engineers say the Ground Transportation Center and Municipal Court in downtown Fargo need to be moved after structural tendon failures were discovered.
The buildings need to be relocated within two to three weeks, it has been recommended the Ground Transportation Center temporarily moves to the former police headquarters building and the municipal court moves to the Fargo Civic Center.
The city will work on finding permanent locations for the buildings at a later date.
The city commission also awarded a Wahpeton based sugar and biofuels company a five-year, $300,000 tax break for the construction of a research and development lab.
Fargo city comissioners voted four to one to approve the break for valley process technologies.
Commissioner Michelle turnberg was the only vote against the break. She says that residents are fed up with businesses getting breaks while residential fees and axes increase.
Valley process technologies will have locations in both Wahpeton and Fargo, and employ 70-80 employees.
