ERDAHL TWP, Minn. (KFGO) — One person was killed and three others were injured in a crash on I-94 Sunday.
It happened just before 4 p.m. at Mile Post 80 in Grant County. Minnesota State Patrol Sgt. Jesse Grabow says the crash happened in a construction zone with head-to-head traffic. He says a Tesla car was driving east when it collided with a Ford car head-on. A third vehicle was driving east and crashed into the other vehicles after the initial collision.
The Tesla driver, a 73-year-old Woodbury man, was killed. His passenger, a 65-year-old Woodbury woman, was seriously hurt. The driver of the Ford, a 24-year-old Jamestown man, was also seriously hurt. The driver of the third car, a Mandan woman, has non-life threatening injuries.
I-94 was closed while crews responded to the crash, and traffic was re-routed.
Minnesota State Patrol, Grant County Sheriff’s Office, Ashby Fire and Ambulance, Evansville Fire, North Memorial EMS, and Lifelink III all responded.
