(KNFL/KFGO) – The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks would start a six-game road trip in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada against the Goldeyes for a three-game series Friday evening. Fargo-Moorhead would enter the night with a mark of 17-19, sitting in 3rd place in the West Division.
Aiden Byrne would drive in the game’s first RBI on a sacrifice fly in the top of the 2nd. Jiandido Tromp of Winnipeg would slash an RBI double to tie it at 1 in the bottom of the 2nd.
The Goldeyes would take the lead 2-1 in the bottom of the 3rd as Nolan Marcelo grounded into a double play with Kevin Garcia scoring from 3rd base.
In the top of the 4th, the RedHawks would tie it at 2 thanks to an RBI single by Juan Fernandez, and would later take the lead on an RBI double by Dillon Thomas. The score would be 3-2 RedHawks until the Goldeyes would tie it at 3 on an RBI double by Raphael Pelletier in the bottom half of the 4th inning.
Noah Marcelo would help Winnipeg retake the lead on an RBI single in the bottom of the 5th to make it 4-3 Goldeyes.
In the top of the 8th, Andy Nelson would be at 3rd base after hitting a double, and advancing on a groundout. Juan Fernandez would ground a ball to Ray-Patrick Didder who would commit an error that allowed Fernandez to reach 1st, and Nelson to score to tie it at 4 a piece.
However, Winnipeg would score 3 runs in the 8th, as Ray-Patrick Didder would drive in a run on an RBI groundout to give the Goldeyes the lead. Ramon Bramasco would then hit an RBI triple to right field, and Adam Hall would drive in a run on an RBI single. The RedHawks had two runners on and one out. But Colby Wilkerson would hit into a double play, as Winnipeg would win by a final of 7-4.
