Georgia inmate Timothy Shane, 52, remains at large after escaping from Grady Hospital in Atlanta early Monday morning during a medical examination following a suicide attempt. Shane fled on foot at 1:20 a.m., then stole an SUV containing a Glock handgun before crashing the vehicle and continuing his escape. Authorities discovered Shane ordered an Uber to pick him up at a south Rockdale residence, but deputies arrived to find him gone. Shane later stole a Pontiac Grand Prix, which was recovered at a Henry County Publix supermarket on Highway 155. The 5-foot-9 suspect with a buzzed haircut was last seen wearing a red hooded sweatshirt and dark blue pants. “Inmate Shane has a history of fleeing along with felony drug and weapon charges,” the sheriff said. “He should be considered armed and dangerous.” (Story URL)
