Kristen Bell and Brian Cox claim they were unaware their decade-old audio recordings would be repurposed for Fox News Audio’s The Life of Jesus Podcast. Reps for the actors said they never gave permission and weren’t even notified that the audio they recorded in 2010 for The Truth & Life Dramatized Audio Bible would be re-used for the new series. In fact, Bell’s team learned about Fox’s acquisition only when asked to appear on Fox & Friends. Fox responded to the outcry, stating: “Gulfstream Studios produced the Life of Jesus Podcast from The Truth and Life Dramatized Audio Bible, which was licensed by Fox News Audio, with full cooperation and participation by all the actors involved.” The podcast features Bell as Mary Magdalene, Cox as God, and includes Sean Astin, Neal McDonough, Malcolm McDowell, John Rhys-Davies and Julia Ormond.
