A 10-year-old boy drove himself home from W.A. Wright Elementary School Friday after arguing with his mother. The incident began around 1 p.m. when the mother left her child in the running vehicle to drop off paperwork inside the school. Police say a witness saw the car “backed out recklessly, nearly hit another car, jumped a curb, and sped off toward Lebanon Road.” Officers found the vehicle parked in the family’s garage approximately one mile from the school. The boy told police he drove home following a “disagreement” with his mom. During the investigation, authorities discovered the father had an outstanding warrant for “theft of property — wire fraud” and arrested him without incident. (Story URL)
