A Delta flight to Salt Lake City was delayed on Thursday evening at Portland International Airport after crew members discovered a passenger had carried a meat cleaver through security screening. Staff reported the “hazardous item” to TSA officials after finding it aboard the aircraft. All passengers were ordered off the plane and required to go through security screening a second time. No arrests were made in connection with the security breach. A TSA spokesperson told KPTV, “We take this matter very seriously. We are reviewing the incident, and once we determine the circumstances surrounding this event, we will take appropriate corrective action that could include additional training of the security screening workforce.” (Story URL)
