Rod Wave was arrested in Fulton County, Georgia, on Friday (November 7) on multiple drug and weapon charges, including possession of a firearm during a felony, reckless driving, and controlled substances. The arrest took place on the same day that the 27-year-old rapper received his first-ever Grammy Award nomination for Best Song Written for Visual Media for “Sinners,” which is featured in the hit 2025 film Sinners. He was released on bond the following day, with his attorneys claiming the arrest was unjust and a result of aggressive policing by Atlanta’s Crime Suppression Unit. Wave has faced previous legal issues in Georgia earlier this year, including charges of aggravated assault and conspiracy to commit a felony, and a separate battery charge. The rapper is preparing for his nationwide The Redemption Experience Tour which is set to kick on December 7 in Los Angeles. (People)
