Mike Smith, who plays Bubbles on Trailer Park Boys, has been charged with sexual assault. Court documents show Smith was charged October 2nd for an alleged assault on December 30th, 2017, in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. Smith cannot contact the alleged victim, whose identity remains protected. Trailer Park Boys Inc. announced Smith has “stepped away” from his managing director role, with Gary Howsam taking over. “We are aware of the allegation concerning Mike Smith dating back to 2017 and take such matters seriously,” the company stated. “Out of respect for the legal process, we will not comment further on the case.” Smith previously faced 2016 misdemeanor domestic battery charges in Los Angeles, though he and the alleged victim later denied those allegations in a joint statement. Season 13 was announced in August for the Trailer Park Boys+ streaming service. (Story URL)
