Talker Research polled 2,000 respondents, finding 78% of shot drinkers and neat spirit consumers appear confident while dating. Margarita lovers scored 70% for confidence. Those preferring drinks on the rocks (79%) and tequila drinkers (77%) more often initiate romantic connections. Most singles (57%) drink alcohol on first dates, with margaritas leading at 31%, followed by shots at 28%. Seven in ten respondents feel confident enough to “shoot their shot” when meeting potential partners. The survey found 56% anticipate cuffing season, planning an average of five first dates.
