Florida man Justin Farley faces federal charges after allegedly stealing $7,000 worth of scratch-off lottery tickets from a St. Petersburg Circle K on May 5th. Authorities say Farley drove his gray Hyundai Elantra to the store, opened multiple cabinets, and took the tickets before leaving. Within 40 minutes, he attempted to redeem the stolen tickets at a nearby 7-Eleven but failed. Prosecutors say he then returned to the same Circle K twice more, unsuccessfully trying to cash in the tickets. Later that day, wearing a black mask, yellow shirt, and black Nike sneakers, Farley allegedly entered a 7-Eleven with a replica Glock, pointed it at a clerk, and stole $120 cash plus Newport cigarettes. Police arrested him May 22nd after surveillance footage and his license plate linked him to the crimes. Farley admitted to both incidents, telling police he “needed money.” (Story URL)
