Rudolf Martino of Birmingham has earned a Guinness World Record for the longest natural beard locks on a living person, measuring 3 feet and 6 inches. Martino grew his facial hair to a length exceeding the height of the world’s shortest woman by over a foot. “The beard locks [were] inspired by the holy men of India, plus Jamaican Rastafarians who adopted their look from India,” Martino told Guinness World Records. He washes his locks every two weeks, requiring two to three days for complete drying. Martino has no plans to cut his hair or beard. “Just as a tree has roots, branches, leaves and some fruit, I have as a symbol my hair, its roots, length and strength,” he said. (Story URL)
