Americans face double the scam messages compared to other countries. A Talker Research survey of 10,500 adults worldwide found Americans receive an average of nine calls, nine emails, and seven texts weekly from scammers, totaling about 100 monthly encounters. Britain follows with 84 monthly scam attempts, while Singapore residents experience only 40 per month. The study revealed Americans and Brits have over 350 spam emails in their inboxes currently. Only 23% feel confident identifying legitimate versus fraudulent communications. Darryl Jones, Vice President of Consumer Segment Strategy at Ping Identity, said “Passwords alone are not enough to protect your data; they’re easily compromised.” Financial fraud concerns 46% of respondents most, while 23% globally have fallen victim to some form of fraud or identity theft.
