Reality TV star Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson is recovering at home after a car accident Friday afternoon outside her Colorado residence. The former Here Comes Honey Boo Boo star was struck on the driver’s side by a young man who admitted to driving 40 MPH while Thompson pulled from her driveway. Her mother June “Mama June” Shannon announced the incident through Instagram videos and told TMZ “She’s lucky to be alive,” noting Thompson waited nearly 15 seconds before turning. “If she had pulled out a few seconds later … it would’ve been a whole different visit,” Shannon said. Thompson was hospitalized but later released. The TLC personality missed her first day of nursing program clinicals due to the crash. Shannon traveled to Colorado to support her daughter and emphasized recovery over school, telling Thompson “Her health comes first.” (Story URL)
