Drake has put his own spin on one of 2026’s biggest country hits. During a DJ set in Toronto on Aug. 31, the rapper previewed a remix of Ella Langley’s Choosin’ Texas, replacing the song’s upbeat country production with a slower, atmospheric R&B sound.
Billboard noted that the brief preview featured Drake using the melody from the song’s chorus while adding his own vocals. The moment follows several recent signs of mutual support between the two artists, including Drake attending Langley’s concert in North Little Rock, Arkansas, and publicly praising her songwriting.
Drake had also played Choosin’ Texas during a DJ set in Houston earlier this summer. Langley, meanwhile, previously shared a video performing along to his 2011 track HYFR.
Choosin’ Texas has become a major crossover success. The song recently reached 19 non-consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the Hot 100, tying the record for the longest-running non-holiday chart-topper.
No official remix release date has been announced.
